Response of Indole 3 butyric acid during air layering on root and shoot induction behavior in Guava (Psidium guajava L) CV Sardar (L-49)

Air layering is practiced as it has assured to produce true type plants and early better rooting observed when treated with Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). A field experiment was conducted study the Rooting shooting behaviour in Guava (Psidium guajava L.) air under different concentrations of IBA during 2019 guava orchard located at Maheru, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab. total ten treatments three replications comprising T1 –Control, T2- IBA@ 5 g, T3- 6 T4- 7 T5- 8 T6- 9 T7- 10 T8- 11 T9- 12 T10- 5000 ppm (Liquid) were applied. Thirteen observations root shoot characters recorded analyzed factorial design RBD. The results indicated that g (T5) performed than control produced best parameters such number days (31.7), primary roots (59.30), length (8.74 cm), diameter (0.89 mm), secondary (45.57), (5.73 fresh weight (0.93 g) dry weight, (0.81g) side shoots (6.87), (4.10 longest (6.01 cm) leaves per layer (33.93). existing production not able meet our present demand fruits increasing population country. It commonly propagated by seed. However, seedlings are they also take much longer bear asexually materials juvenile phase eliminated plants. Therefore, study, do time fruits, thus contributing quality production.
